What’s In My Carry-On Bag

First of all…I’M IN SCOTLAND!!!!!!!!!!!! Second of all…I PRE-WROTE SOME BLOG POSTS!!!!!!!!!!!! Your lil CC is growing up. I’m so excited to be across the pond, and I can’t wait to come home feeling refreshed, cultured and inspired.

Back to the blog post…

Who doesn’t love a good “What’s In My Bag” post? Nothing in my carry-on bag is revolutionary. Nothing I have listed here will change your life or cause you to re-evaluate the way you travel. But isn’t it fun taking a peek into other people’s stuff? When I go to people’s houses, I LOVE wandering around their personal space and seeing how they organize their lives, how they’ve decorated, etc. Terribly invasive and creepy, but don’t we all like taking good ideas from other people? It’s like Pinterest, but tangible.

Is that kind of like life plagiarism?

Where was I? Right. Creeping through people’s stuff.

Even though all girls seem to carry around the same stuff, I still manage to find new ideas or new products to buy from “What’s In My Bag” blog posts/ YouTube videos. I never get tired of watching or reading this kind of content, so I figured I’d contribute to the endless collection. I’m an over-packer through and through, so this pile of stuff doesn’t include my usual purse essentials (i.e. my wallet & passport…don’t forget that, Carly…) Enjoy!

Snacks on Snacks
Obvi you have to buy water once you’re through security (or bring a reusable bottle), but in terms of food…my mother trained me well. Bring snacks, your life will be instantly better.

Sweatshirt & Cozy Socks
It’s hot here, but it’s cold in the air and at my destination. Cozy town USA (Canada?) is right here in this baby I got from the Nike Women’s Run and these soft ‘n comfy Roots socks.

Big-Ass Camera
It weighs more than I do, and I also don’t want it to get stolen from my suitcase. Also, you never know when I’ll want to take some sweet pix.

Notebook & Puzzles
For all of my tH0uGhTz & F3eLinGs!*~**! JK but I do like bringing a notebook in case I feel inspired (or want to play MASH…). A puzzle book is also a must since I am the biggest Sudoku nerd. Can’t get enough.

Reading Material
Duh. Also I raided my mom’s home library for these and I am SO EXCITED to read this and this. I’m not the biggest fan of e-readers, I love the satisfaction of turning a page. They weigh down my bag, but it’s so worth it.

Phone Charger
My phone dies in 3.5 seconds, so I need a portable charger to help me out. PS is there such thing as Instagram Anonymous? Asking for a friend…

Ca$h Money
I’m crazy and like splitting up my money all over my bags. I don’t like the thought of being without foreign currency (it’s called a credit or debit card, Carly…you have both…you can use them…) so I usually split my $$$ into 2 or 3 piles and put them in my purse, backpack, and my suitcase once I’m at my destination.

Moisturizer
The circulated air on airplanes is pretty gross, and makes your skin overproduce oils (hence why I get a massive pimple after every flight, without fail). I try to combat this by slapping on some facial moisturizer once I’m in the air. Moisture is the essence of wetness…and wetness is the essence of beauty….

Headphones
K guys I broke my Beats. SO, SO SAD. Until I manage to fix them or invest in some new over-ear headphones, these lil Apple earbuds will have to do. Plus, do those free headphones they give out on planes ever REALLY work?

Lippy & a Hair Tie
Again, planes are dry as fuuuuuuuuq. Burts Bees is always my BFF, but I’m reminded of its importance on airplanes. I also need my hair out of my face, because it gets BEYOND staticky. Ugh.

D.O. for the B.O.
This is a PSA to smelly people on planes. You are in a confined space with other people. Please do us all a favour and TRY to contain your odors. I know it’s summer, I know you’re probably stress-sweating from turbulence. We’re all in the same boat. ANTI-PERSPIRANT YO’SELF.
