Wanderlust Kit

Instagram will be my downfall. Last week I was casually scrolling through my feed, minding my own business, when I saw THIS. The Little Market (Lauren Conrad’s side project) teamed up with Tarte Cosmetics to create the Wanderlust Kit: a compilation of the Little Market co-founders’ 5 favourite Tarte products held in a gorgeous, hand-crafted bag made by Guatemalan artisans. I am absolutely in LOVE with Tarte products (and LC), so I obviously had to jump on this opportunity. Thank god payday was this week!

The Wanderlust Kit contains full-sized versions of: Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in flush, LipSurgence lip gloss in flush, lights camera lashes liquid eyeliner, Amazonian clay gifted smart mascara, and a small bottle of maracuja oil. The price point is a bit steep at $81, however I calculated that the products alone would regularly be worth $163, and I’m a sucker for a good deal. WINNING! (Kind of…)

These products have not failed to impress me. The liquid liner reminds me of the Milani liquid liner (one of my favourites), and the mascara does the job of creating volume without being clumpy. The blush is a gorgeous cool-toned pink, and I can’t wait to wear it more dramatically in the fall and winter. I am yet to try the maracuja oil, but I’m always in for a new product!

The winner for me is the lip gloss. Like most girls, I’ve spent my life trying many a gloss (remember the good ol’ Bonne Bell days?) It’s all about the search for the perfect blend of pigmentation, texture and smell. This gloss seems to be all three! The colour is an amazing “my lips but better” shade, it isn’t too sticky, and it smells like cake. Could it get any better?

All in all I would highly recommend each and every one of these products, and they are quickly becoming essentials in my every day routine. While the kit itself is sold out, these products are all regulars in Tarte’s Amazonian clay permanent collection. I’d say Tarte is definitely worth the splurge, and if you get a chance to check out the Little Market’s products, you’ll see that the money goes to a great cause. Definitely Instagram-worthy, and definitely worth the money that I don’t have.
