Top 10 Posts of 2015

I had SO MUCH FUN blogging in 2015! I seriously found my passion and had a blast making things happen. (Did you see yesterday’s post about my thoughts on the new year?)

I thought it would be fun to look back on some of my favourite posts from 2015. It’s Thursday (and the last #tbt of the year), so WHY NOT!

It’s equal parts cringe-worthy and gratifying to look back and see how much my blog has grown! I made some really cool memories this year, and I don’t want them to be lost in the blog archives…I want to revive them one last time before moving on to 2016.

Without further ado, here are my top 10 favourite posts from this year (and some of my most popular content!)

10. Plant Life
I got verrrrrrrrrrry into flowers and plants this year…they bring my condo to life! I’ve picked up a few fun plant tips along the way that I wanted to share with you. (I also just take way too many pictures of pretty flowers and needed somewhere to showcase them!)

9. Photo Diary: Father’s Day Weekend
This photo diary brought back some amazing memories from Father’s Day weekend. My parents are busy and set in a routine, so it was incredibly fun to get out and spend uninterrupted quality time with them. Golfing, lunch, ice cream and strolls through Burlington made for one of my favourite weekends of the year.

8. How I Style My Lob
One of my most frequently asked questions by people in real life (lol). There are a million and one tutorials online showing how to style a long bob, but I wanted to add my routine to the mix. I still curl my hair this way with longer hair, but am finding I opt more for the straightener curls these days. Maybe a new tutorial soon?

7. The Buddy System
Ugh…………..exercise. I have a love-hate relationship with you. I got back into a fitness routine this year and realized how important it is to have someone going through it with you! #Accountability! PS – hi Reilly, Kayla BBG starts again in T- 4 days. Mentally preparing as we speak.

6. Wine Tasting Weekend
Another round of amazing memories! Stefan whisked me away on a romantic getaway to Niagara a few weeks ago…we had the best time and I love reliving it through photos. A big part of the weekend was going on a wine tour. As a wine newbie, I learned a ton and wanted to share it with you!

5. Peppermint Chocolate Cookies
An unexpected crowd favourite! This post got a ton of traffic…apparently my readers are gals after my own heart. These cookies were SO yummy and very festive. Keeping this one on rotation for next year’s Christmas baking!

4. Owl’s Brew Summer Cocktail
This post was a bit of a turning point for me photography-wise…I finally figured out some of the features of my camera!! Owl’s Brew was an unexpected gem I picked up at Chapter’s, and it made for one delicious gin cocktail.

3. Milkmaidin’
Oh, crown braids…how I love you. This hairstyle was a lifesaver this summer when I was practically sweating to death. WAY easier than it looks, this was another request from friends of mine. Hoping to try some creative new braids this coming year!

2. Photo Diary: St. Andrew’s & Crail (and Edinburgh!)
This one is a twofer…both of my photo diaries from my trip to Scotland were amongst my favourite posts. This trip was one of the highlights of my year! Both the big city of Edinburgh and teeny tiny Crail were beautiful places where we made some kickass memories. I can’t get enough of these photos, and I can’t wait to go back!

1. Cozy Cardigan
This post….man, I am so incredibly proud of it. A quick, casual photoshoot on a cloudy day somehow turned into my favourite blog post of the year. This outfit was a fall go-to, and it led to a turning point for my blog. I was featured on LaurenConrad.com as Chic of the Week (I lost my shit…I’m STILL losing my shit) and my photo was reposted on Instagram by Anthropologie. This was my first photo to surpass 200 likes on the ‘gram (…and then 300 likes) and it led to me blowing past the 1000 followers mark. It not only improved my following, but it gave me the boost of confidence I needed to commit to my blog.

I feel so proud of what I created this year and the steps I’ve made to improve not only my blog, but myself. I can’t wait to work even harder in 2016 and see what next year’s “favourite 10 posts” are.

Happy New Year, everyone…see you on the other side!
