Terre Bleu Lavender Farm

Oh hey August, didn’t see ya there.

(Obviously…don’t mind my lobster red sunburnt hue…)

First of all, let me state some big, unrelated news: I. GOT. HIGHLIGHTS.

This may not seem like a big deal, but as a natural blonde for 25 years, I felt like I was losing my virginity or something. Sorry mom. I wanted to brighten up my blonde and lighten things up throughout, since my hair is so golden. I LOVE the results! I feel like my 19 year old self when I worked outside all summer long. If you’re in Oakville, go to Jacquie at The Design Crew…she’s wonderful!

Ok back to our regularly scheduled programming.

It’s FINALLY starting to feel like summer, thank god. On our last drive up to the cottage, I was saying to Stefan that it didn’t feel right to be driving up north; it hadn’t felt like summer yet! Now that the temperatures are up and the rain has slowed down (knock on wood…) I’m finally digging into my grab bag of summer activities and trying to get it all done before winter rears its ugly head.

I came across Terre Bleu Lavender Farm while scrolling through Instagram (thanks Joelle!) and knew I had to visit. One text to Nikki requesting a field trip was all it took, and I’m so glad we made the trek.

Who knew that there were so many adorable, unique places hidden just outside of the city? You need to get your butt to Milton…this place smelled like HEAVEN and is a photographer’s dream. Nik and I strolled through the rows of lavender, checked out the apiary (Nik is a bee lover), had some lavender ice cream and enjoyed the sun (lather up in the ‘screen, kids; there is little to no tree coverage). They also offer fresh herb mocktails, which I soooo wish I waited in line for.

Considering it was 1000000 degrees outside, there was no “cute hair and outfit” happening. Kudos to girls who can be outside and still look stunning, but I am far too sweaty and allergic to nature for that. Let’s see how my August wedding goes next year. #realtalk.

ANYWAYS, the Madewell Whisper Tee is my new fave (as always thanks to Jess) and is the perfect lightweight tee for summer. I really wanted to pair it with a jean skirt, but I somehow don’t have one…my 14 year old self is screaming! Of course my hip sis had a few lying around for me to borrow, but I really need to add one to my roster. Any suggestions?

As usual, I whipped out my favourite souvenirs from Amsterdam – my O My Bag purse and my cheap AF Pull & Bear sneakers that I wear at least 2x a week. In my opinion, the best kind of souvenir is clothing/accessories. Instead of a tchotchke that sits on a shelf collecting dust, I buy things that I can wear to remind me of my adventures. (…ok fine, I buy tchotchkes too.)

Also, how trendy is Nik with her Fjallraven Kanken Mini and photogenic face? Me likey.

Where is your favourite hidden gem near Toronto? I want to add it to my list!
