Spring Beauty Faves

HelllooOoOOOoOO spring!

I’d like to start out by saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY to The Clydescope! For the second year in a row, April 4th blew right by without celebration. Sigh. Maybe year 3 will be the year to recognize my blog success. Thank you so much for reading and interacting with my content…I’ve met some really cool people through this hobby of mine, and I can’t wait for more. I haven’t stopped loving this blog since the moment I created it, so I’ll keep on rolling! 🙂

Annnnnnd back to the fun stuff.

My bestie Kathleen told me that she’s obsessed with YouTube beauty favourites videos, and I have to agree. I can’t even count the number of products that I’ve been introduced to by my favourite YouTubers. It’s total consumerism, but it’s led me to some of my go-to products! Kathleen told me that I should post more of my beauty faves, and here I am to oblige.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration
I am truly the last person on Earth to be turned onto the First Aid Beauty craze. My skin has been breaking out like CRAZY and has grown oilier over the past few years. I assumed that my skin was just changing (which it probably is), but in a last-ditch attempt to solve the dilemma, I tried an intense moisturizer. And it WORKED. Turns out my skin was screaming for moisture and was acting out…even my skin is a drama queen. This stuff goes on smoothly and evenly, and has restored the life in my skin. It’s also awesome for dry knuckles and elbows, which are out in full force after this winter. If you haven’t hopped on the FAB train yet, doooooo it.

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo
As a Batiste lover, this one is a shocker. Remember when I said that YouTubers influence me to buy things? Yeah, this one was a recommendation from Ingrid Nilsen. My hair has zero volume, so I took her advice and splurged on a pricier dry shampoo. This product does exactly what I hoped it would! It does go on white, but as a blonde I’m good to go. Massaging it into my roots gives me insane volume and controls the oil better than any dry shampoo I’ve ever tried. If you’re willing to drop a few (okay, more than a few) extra dollars, Living Proof is the way to go!

NYX Matte Lipstick in Natural
I talked a bit about this lipstick in this outfit post. It’s the perfect “my lips but more berry but better” shade. It adds some colour to my lips without looking like I’m too done-up, and it doesn’t dry them out (HALLELUJAH). The price tag is also a relief after my Living Proof splurge…

Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Ahhhhh. An old favourite. I haven’t owned Hoola since first year of university, when my roommate claimed my box as her own (Hi Kateland). I’ve dabbled in many a bronzer since then, but after feeling extra pale this winter, I decided to go back to the holy grail. And boooooy was I missing out. Matte, natural, easy. We all know and love it, so if you pulled a Carly and fell off the wagon, HOP BACK ON.

blinc Mascara Amplified
I’m always on the hunt for my new favourite mascara, and this one has made its way to the top. I was sent a box of blinc products as a PR sample, and didn’t know what the brand was. It wasn’t until I saw the packaging that I realized I had tried it before! I got a mascara sampler from Sephora a while back and this mascara was included. I loved it then, and I sure do love it now. blinc mascara gives volume and length (bonus) without making me look insane. This stuff also has some serious staying power…it won’t budge with water or rubbing, but the two combined make it come right off. I’m all about ease, so easy long lasting wear and easy removal make for a match made in heaven. Honourable mention goes to the blinc Eyebrow Mousse. SOOOO good.
