Merry ALMOST Christmas, everyone!
Based on my posting schedule (or lack thereof), this will likely be my last post before the holidays. It’s crazy how quickly Christmas has sprung up…only 4 days away, and I feel so unprepared! Anyways, I want to wish you all a happy and safe holiday weekend; I hope that you enjoy a nice relaxing break with your loved ones! I start my celebrations today with a team lunch, an office gift exchange tomorrow, and then into family Christmas with Stefan on Friday, his family on Saturday, and my family on Sunday & Monday. PHEW! I’m exhausted already, but stoked for delicious food and festive cheer! 🙂
On to the topic of today’s post!
I used to HATE putting on a hat to go outside. My mom would always give my sister and I shit for not bundling up, and we’d be forced to grab one of the nondescript, probably free toques we kept in our mudroom. Since then, I’ve learned to love chic winter headwear and have experimented with plenty of styles. I love me a good headband and earmuffs are adorable, but the past few seasons I have found myself gravitating towards the pom pom hat. I have a feeeeewwwww too many at this point…they’re just too cute! Some of my favourites are from J Crew and Roots (previous seasons, ahhh! Sorry!) but I also love my gimmicky hats given to me by friends (looking at you Bronwyn, I love my toque from the Drake!)
It seems like everyone has caught onto the pom hat trend…I was watching Julia Engel‘s Iceland vlog and was marvelling at the number of adorable hats she wore! I find that the perfect pom beanie comes in a certain form: not too slouchy and with a bit of wiggle room, knit with a fur pom. I can easily be wooed by a wool pom, but fur gives me hearts for eyes.
UNFORTUNATELY it looks like my hat above has sold out (boo!) but I’ve linked 8 adorable pom beanies below. They range in price from affordable to dream hat (hi Moncler, one day you will be mine), and I love how creative brands have gotten with such a simple design!
For all you last minute shoppers, these hats would make perfect gifts or stocking stuffers…I know I’d be over the moon to open a new pom beanie on Christmas morning! (No, family and friends, that is not a hint. I swear I have more than enough…?)
