We may have gone to Scotland to watch The Open (St. Andrews photo diary here!) but it was so exciting to take a day trip to Edinburgh. I had never been to Scotland, and my inner history nerd (& shopaholic) came out to play. I took a zillion photos, but here are some highlights of our day in Edinburgh!
Morning latte at the hippest of cafes.
Pretending to be cultured at the National Gallery.
Barely made it up the hill to see this stunning view…note to self, flats are not appropriate walking shoes.
Being a tourist with my love bug.
Paid a visit to Edinburgh Castle (and waited far too long to barely get a shot of the flag in the wind)
So much learning at the National War Museum.

Amazing walkway of quotes!

Charcuterie (and plenty of wine) at Jamie Oliver’s restaurant! Ps I put on my big girl pants and tried duck pâté for the first time…so good! The prosciutto is also to diiiiie for.
If you’re ever in Edinburgh, you HAVE to go to Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant. So delicious and the decor is unreal.
