Ohhhh my word, what a week. I never really understood what people were talking about when they said a full time job was tiring. I’ve only been at my job for four days, but between being out of the house from 8-7 every day, and then coming home to work out and eat dinner…I don’t know how people have time for anything else in the world. Adults are superheroes and I have the utmost respect for people who do this every day for forty years. That being said, now that I have a week of work under my belt, I… View Post

Alright, I’ll say it: I like having dirty hair. No, not the noticeably greasy disgusting kind; the kind with texture. My hair refuses to hold curl, and so I like my hair to be at least second or third day unwashed so that my curls have a fighting chance of lasting throughout the day. That being said, I have had serious trouble finding a good dry shampoo. I hate the smell of hairspray, and a lot of aerosols smell similar to me. I’ve tried quite a few different formulas, and just came across this product by Bumble & bumble. A… View Post

Queen’s University offers an exchange experience at the Bader International Study Centre…better known as “The Castle.” I made the decision to go to the castle for 6 weeks last summer in order to travel and take a few courses. One year ago today, I left Canada and traveled to Herstmonceux; nervous, alone, and unsure what to expect. Little did I know that the experience in store for me would change my life. This #tbt is dedicated to my castle family and the memories we share. ♡ The BISC is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. The castle sits… View Post

May has arrived, and hopefully it will bring warm weather. I am SO over this damp, chilly, windy business! With the beginning of a new month comes new beginnings for this girl; a new place to live being the most notable. It’s time to start fresh and begin shaping my home, at which I can spend time with the people I love and create a space that is entirely my own. I am looking forward to blogging about the moving process and my new endeavours. In the meantime, enjoy your weekly dose of Carly tidbits. ♡ Song I LOVE me some Ariana… View Post

One of the things I’m most looking forward to about being done university is having time to read. I know I speak for many of my peers when I say that the volume of academic readings we did throughout university made it very difficult to want to sit down and enjoy a novel. That being said, now that I am done with school, I can’t wait to start reading for enjoyment again. I feel like I haven’t read a book in forever! Below is a list of the top 10 novels that I am looking forward to reading this summer…some old, some… View Post
