Pacific Junction Hotel

Another day, another restaurant review. The longer I live in Toronto, the more I want to branch out and try new restaurants. It would be easy for me to go to the same place every day (I truly am a creature of habit), but it’s super fun hearing about new places and going for it. A friend of mine recommended Pacific Junction Hotel to me, and the next day I grabbed one of my gals and went to check it out.

Located on King St, PJH (my affectionate pet name for this marvellous place) is kind of easy to miss. To be honest, we walked right by it…there isn’t really any clear signage, which already tells me that this place is too cool for me. The only way to describe the inside of PJH is ECLECTIC. When my friend used “repurposed bath tubs as seats” to describe it, I knew I had to go.

This restaurant is spread out over multiple levels, making for something new to look at each place you sit. There’s a pool table (and when I went, people taking shots on a Wednesday) and other knick knacks to keep you entertained in each room. I’m dying to spend a night hanging out and drinking there. There is also duct tape EVERYWHERE (see the menus above) and I loved the laid back vibe.

The drink menu is extensive (and not too expensive, yay rhyming) and the water is served in cute little mason jars…I’m still not over the whole mason jar thing. I ordered the crispy tofu wrap, and my friend got the Bulleit pulled pork…while hers was a little messy to eat, I don’t even think she minded. The food was DELICIOUS. My wrap was heavenly, and it camewith chips which we all know are my weakness. The tofu wasn’t too tofu-like (if you know what I mean) and the pineapple salsa within really upped the ante on a wrap that could easily err on the side of boring. I am a notorious bird-like eater; I never- ok, rarely- finish my meals, but this one was the exception to the rule. I nommed the shit out of that wrap, and was sad I didn’t have leftovers for lunch the next day.

I am ALL for not spending a ton of money on a delicious dinner, and Pacific Junction Hotel DELIVERED. I’d love to go back here for drinks, or just to have the tofu wrap again…what can I say, once I find something I like, I stick to it. 10/10 would devour again.
