Owl’s Brew Summer Cocktail

Even though the weather has been less than balmy this week (I wore leather today…come on…) SUMMER ISN’T OVER! I have high hopes that the heat will come back, and until then I’ll be faking it til I make it. In this case, “faking it” comes in the form of making a yummy, refreshing cocktail.

On one of my many, many wallet-killing trips to Chapters, I picked up this bottle of Owl’s Brew. I bought the “Classic” flavour…here’s how it’s described: “Fresh-brewed and ready to pour. This artisanal mixer, handcrafted in small batches, is a blend of English Breakfast and lemon peel, with lemon juice and lime juice. Just add your favorite liquor!”

YUMMY, am I right??? Ever since I picked it up, I’ve been dying to make a tasty drink for the blog. I finally had some downtime this week, so what better way to spend my Wednesday night then experimenting with booze! You can mix Owl’s Brew with liquor or beer, and they have a few amazing flavours. I think I’ll try Pink & Black next…idk what darjeeling is (Googled it…it’s tea. Duh.) but it has hibiscus and fruit flavour in it. SIGN ME UP!

Anyways, scroll through for the recipe I concocted with this super smooth mixer.

Gin & Tonic: Clydescope Style

– Owl’s Brew “The Classic”
– Gin of your choice (tbh I bought Hendrick’s because the bottle looks pretty on my bar cart)
– Fresh mint
– Lime
– Soda water (not pictured because my Soda Stream bottle made the pic look ugly. #realtalk)
– Lots of ice

PS – how pretty are these glasses from Anthropologie? My bestie got them for me for Christmas and they make me feel fancy when I’m drinking on my couch in my pyjamas.

From here, it’s easy.

Combine 2 parts Owls’ Brew with 1 part liquor…I used 1 shot of gin and a little more than 2 shots of mix. Squeeze half a lime and fill the rest of the glass with soda or tonic water. Garnish with lime and mint, and chugalugalug! …or sip like an adult. Your call.
