My Go-To Red

Aside from her bitchy persona on The City, I’m actually such a fan of Olivia Palermo…her style is unreal and I love how classic and simple her look is. When I heard about her nail polish collaboration with Ciaté on Instagram, I was so excited to see what was in store. I knew it would be great, but didn’t know too much about it. Imagine my surprise when my bestie got me one of the polishes for my birthday! It’s like she just knew.

I am SO obsessed with the packaging of this nail polish…it looks like perfume at first glance. There are 3 shades in the collection; “my off duty nude”, “my hot vacation coral”, and this gorgeous red called “my off duty red.” I love red nails…it’s kind of like a fun neutral. So THANK YOU, KATHLEEN! Great choice

I’m always skeptical about nail polish, since there always seems to be something wrong with it. Too sheer, dries too slow, etc…you’d think they’d have figured it out by now (they being the nail polish people. duh.) ANYWAYS. This one goes on super smooth and can easily be a one-coater, which is a major plus. I did 2 coats because I had the time, but in a pinch, 1 coat will totally do the trick. I also usually have issues with little air bubbles in my nails, and that didn’t seem to be a problem!

My nails have chipped a little bit in the 24 hours I’ve had it on, but to the nail polish’s defense, I didn’t use a top coat and I’ve showered/dug my hands in my purse/been rough on my hands since painting them.

All in all, I give this product two perfectly-polished thumbs up! You go, Olivia Palermo. For $29 at Sephora it’s pretty pricey, but I think a good nail polish in a classic colour is worth the splurge. Or you can find a bestie who will buy it for you for your bday…….happy shopping!
