Life Lately

Hey friends! It’s time for a lil life update.

The holidays are actually my favourite time of year…call me basic, but I just can’t get enough of Christmas. Yes my tree went up in mid-November, and yes my condo looks like Santa threw up on it.

I’m also devastated that there likely won’t be snow for Christmas. So much for Decembrrrrrr, but this whole “wearing a light jacket and not freezing my ass off” thing is a plus. Good thing I just bought a new parka………………………..maybe one of these days it will actually look wintery outside and I can do a post on it.

Here’s some of the random things I’ve been up to lately!

It’s so rare that I get a chance to go downtown Toronto…I used to go all the time, but these days I have no reason to be there (aka I’m too poor to buy theatre tickets). I missed how festive and gorgeous the financial district can be.

I went to Red’s Wine Tavern for my friend Brittney‘s birthday…pricey but DELISH. I had a lobster avocado grilled cheese…this is what dreams are made of.

How had I never been to the Toronto Christmas Market before????? It’s a Christmas lover’s paradise!!! I finally went with Stef and our friends Sara & Sean on a double date and it was the best. We picked such a mild night and it wasn’t nearly as busy as expected. High fives for accidental planning awesomeness.

Also, I have never been to a place where selfies and instagramming are so normal and widespread. Seriously, this place was made for me. Blogger HEAVEN.

The holidays have really snuck up on me this year. I haven’t spent nearly as much time at home as I usually do…which means LESS DOGS. Truly a tragedy.

At this point I’ve been trying to head home whenever possible…I just can’t resist this sweet face (and the other 3 wreaking some sort of havoc outside the frame).

Side note – I’ve recently gotten heavily into smoothies. Idk why I fell off the wagon, but consider me BACK ON. I’ve been living for a fruit smoothie with some spinach and almond milk…if I’m feeling CRAZY I’ll throw in some avocado or yogurt. This chick is on a health kick! (She says as she sips a dream latte from Tim Horton’s…latte with chocolate whipped cream. #health).

While I love my parents’ new house in the country, one thing I miss about Oakville is the downtown area. Much like DT TO, I rarely have an excuse to go there anymore!! Stef and I spent a day shopping and lunching, and it was the best. I LOVE the shops….I went to Yorkville recently as well, but nothing compares to Old Oakville’s small town charm.

ALSO OMG I saw the chick who played Emma on Degrassi. My 14 year old self was LOSING HER SHIT. I kept my cool, I swear. Side note, she had really cute shoes. A+, Emma.

PINKBERRY IS IN CANADA. That is all.

My girl Sam and I are doing another show together next year, and we went to see the theatre company’s current production. It was held in a theatre at a gallery, and the art was pretty sweet. Kind of wish I could paint…new hobby for 2016? Stay tuned.
