Much like nail polish and cozy sweaters, candles hold a special place in my heart. After living in res and being denied access to candles, the past 3.5 years have been a whirlwind of deliciously scented jars of magic. Obviously Bath & Body Works make incredible candles…I could pick 5 candles easily from that store alone. However I tried to step out of my comfort zone and remember my favourite scents from other stores as well. My apartment has never smelled better, and it’s all thanks to these babies right hurr. These candles would make incredible Christmas gifts to your loved ones, or an even better gift-to-self to kickstart some holiday joy.
B&BW – $22.50
While Leaves is a crowd favourite and another fave of mine, this candle is my all-time favourite fall (and all year round) scent. It smells like an Abercrombie model (which my boyfriend also smells like, go figure) and you don’t have to burn it for long to get an incredibly strong scent. Stock up on 20, because you will be obsessed.
NEST – $38
I got this candle as a Christmas gift 2 years ago and wanted to cry when it was over (dramatic, whatevs). It is like HEAVEN…it’s Christmassy, but also smells amazing all year round. Also, when it burnt out I cleaned out the jar and used it as a gorgeous makeup brush holder. 2-in-1, self high five!
Anthropologie – $28
Ohhhhh mama…this candle. You know when you walk into Anthropologie and it smells incredible and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy? Chances are they were burning this candle. It is tropical and sweet, which may not be everyone’s cup of tea…but it comes in a bunch of different kinds of gorgeous containers and is formulated to last for hours. If you like the scent, it is definitely worth the money.
Paddywax – $11
Cranberry. Fig. Need I say more? This little guy smells amazing and looks super simple and chic sitting on your countertop. This one is an unreal holiday scent and will get you in the mood for Christmas festivities! And also to eat delicious holiday food…
B&BW – $22.50
Okay, I lied. Another B&BW candle. But come on, they smell SO GOOD! This one is the epitome of winter to me. It smells spicy and warm and seriously envelops every corner of your home. Light this candle, put on your coziest jammies and some Christmas music, and let the joy take over!
