Early Christmas Cheer

IT’S CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, it’s still November. But as soon as Canadian Thanksgiving and Halloween are over, I go full steam ahead towards Christmas. American Thanksgiving doesn’t even register as a blip on my radar (sorry, guys).

The other night I convinced (forced) Stefan to help me decorate for Christmas. We poured some red wine, put on some tunes, and struggled to make my tree light up. We got like 99% of the branches lit this year (in comparison to waaaay less than that last year) so we’ll chalk this one up as a success. My building doesn’t allow real trees (boo) and to be honest I couldn’t keep up with one, so my fake tree does the job juuuuust fine.

We took a few pictures while decorating, but the low light combined with having too much fun made for lacklustre photos. I went on YouTube and found a “winter tag” to spice up this post! Keep scrolling to see my answers to some quick holiday-themed questions and see my SICK ONESIE. Seriously…the butt flap is everything I’ve ever needed in life.

1. Favourite winter nail polish? OPI Lincoln Park After Dark (shocking)

2. Favorite winter lip product? Covergirl Lip Perfection in Embrace…it’s super purple in the tube but goes on deep and vampy. I LIKE.

3. Most worn winter clothing piece? My Hatley onesie. Seriously. I don’t take it off from November through April.

4. Most worn winter accessory? Cashmere lined leather gloves…they are oh-so warm and make me feel like a grown-up.

5. Favourite winter scent/candle? Fresh balsam, always and forever.

6. Favourite winter beverage? I’ve been hitting the skinny peppermint mochas (PEPPY MOCHS) lately… But I also love caramel apple spice or a classic chai latte.

7. All time favorite Christmas/holiday movie? Love Actually or The Grinch (the live action one). Although White Christmas holds a lot of memories, since my family used to watch it every Christmas Eve. ALSO OMG what is that cartoon with the little bears who get lost in the woods? That one. (Edit: spent way too long searching and found it. “The Bears Who Saved Christmas” ahhhh it’s so good, lil Christopher and Holly! #memories)

8. Favourite Christmas/holiday song? I love “Baby it’s Cold Outside”. But if we’re including new songs, I’m super into “Underneath the Tree” by Kelly Clarkson!

9. Favourite holiday food/treat? Savoury is always stuffing. Sweet has to be these peanut butter and butterscotch marshmallow squares that my Great Aunt Ruth used to make…they are 1000% bad for you and that’s what makes them so delicious.

10. What is your favourite Christmas decoration this year? I don’t have a photo of it, but I have this light up penguin that is actually the cutest. He’s fuzzy and round and too perfect (I named him Norm).

11. What’s at the top of your Christmas list? I got so stressed when my mom asked me what I want for Christmas. Honestly like new bedding and money…am I an adult yet?  If dreams were to come true, a Gray Malin print would show up under my tree (hi mom).

12. What are your plans for the holidays this year? I am so excited to have a long weekend off of work. No plans other than relax and spend time with the fam (and by fam I mean my dogs).

That’s it! I’m going to go listen to some Christmas music and make hot chocolate now. Let me know some of your winter faves in the comments!
