Current Beauty Faves

First of all: this post is INCREDIBLY HARD to write since I’m watching Grease Live as I work. Did anyone else watch? We all know I’m a musical addict, and I’m actually so impressed…I love it!!! My girl crush on Julianne Hough is renewed. What did you think?

Anyways, back to my beauty faves.

2016 is off to a killer start in terms of beauty. I’ve found some really great products, and this week my skin has FINALLY decided to settle down and work with me. I have quite a few beauty posts coming up, including my first venture into natural skincare and Korean sheet masks. For now, I wanted to share some of the best products I’ve picked up recently. I think I’ve found some permanent additions to my roster!

First up…waaaaaasn’t technically a purchase. MEEMO beauty kindly reached out to me and offered to sponsor a post. You can find more details about the company here…they treated me to this adorable cat ear headband by Etude House! It’s a super soft towelly material and stays on my head while I wash my face…this is key, since hair bands never seem to stay put. The ears are too cute and I throw this on pretty much any time I’m at home.

The Lush Love and Light hand cream came in my 12 Days of Christmas box, and it’s been a game changer this winter. The cocoa butter and neroli keep your hands crazy soft…yes I just googled what neroli is, it’s an essential oil from a bitter orange tree. #learning. It took me the longest time to place the smell of this cream, but I’ve finally got it. It smells exactly like Froot Loops milk…like when you finish your bowl of cereal. It’s so sweet, but in the best way. Def recommend!

Why am I the last person in the world to catch on to Colourpop? I ordered a pack of 5 mini ultra matte liquid lipsticks and fell in LOVE. This shade- Clueless– is my new go-to colour. It starts out as “my lips but better”, but it builds into a gorgeous deep berry/mauve. These lipsticks are super drying, but that seems to be the only downside. Just throw some lip balm on before applying, and then suck it up…it’s so worth it for the stunning colour payoff. (Also, excuse my chipped nails…I shot these pics before I touched them up! Fail…)

Last but not least, I treated myself to a new nail polish. I know, I know, I already have 10000. But my favourite dark purple dried up! I chose Essie Devil’s Advocate, which is the darkest purple…seriously, it’s basically black. I find that some Essie polishes chip within an hour, and others stay forever (lookin’ at you, Angora Cardi. So good). This one is thankfully the latter…it stay put for way longer than expected! I painted my nails on Sunday afternoon and didn’t need to touch it up or take it off until Saturday. Major snaps for Essie on this one!
