A Look Back At 2016

Original post here..

As I think about what 2017 means for The Clydescope and what content I want to create, I’ve taken a look back at my posts from the past year. I saw that Kelly in the City posted a “year in review” where she shared her blog posts from the year, and it made me want to do the same. I give myself a lot of shit for not keeping up a consistent schedule and for not working hard enough…but you know what?

I created some AWESOME blog posts in 2016.

This year was so much fun. I travelled, I was cozy at home, I discovered new beauty products, and I did a lot of soul-searching. By going all the way back to January 2016, I realized that I LOVE my blog. I have grown so much as a blogger and as a person, and The Clydescope serves as a record of that growth. I am so excited to look back in a year and feel even more proud of what I’ve built!

I also realized how bizarre blogging is. I put so much work into one post, and then it feels like it disappears forever. This kind of annual recap is a great way for me to resurface content that I worked my butt off to create, and to share some of my favourite memories with you!

In 2016…

I found THE best deodorant in the world.

I played in the rain.

I found some awesome new beauty products (what else is new).

I had my girlfriends over for face masks & mimosas.

I wore a whole lot of blue.

I faced my fashion-fears and mixed prints.

I had Easter brunch with Stefan’s family.

Back at it again with the white vans…

I made a list of things I learned from my mom.

I asked some of my favourite girlbosses how they stay motivated.

I found my favourite sweater for spring.

I thought about what I’ve learned from my dad.

Stefan and I spent a weekend in Stratford.

And I styled some comfy chic joggers for a night at the theatre.

I rounded up some of my favourite summer memories.

We had a staycation in Toronto to celebrate our 3 year anniversary.

I talked about the pros and cons of living with a boyfriend.

My dream hair product came into my life.

I interviewed one of my role models about her business.

I went to Iceland! I packed light and shared how I did it.

I figured out where my best inspiration comes from.

I talked about my fall staples.

I wrote my longest post ever and shared my 7 day Iceland itinerary.

I got into the fall spirit.

I redesigned my blog!

I dabbled in the Sephora VIB sale.

I decided to remove a certain phrase from my vocabulary.

WE GOT ENGAGED!!!

I reflected on my favourite holiday traditions.

Pom hats were my favourite accessory.

I set out my goals for 2017.

There you have it! I can’t wait to create more memories in 2017.
