Alright, I’ll say it: I like having dirty hair. No, not the noticeably greasy disgusting kind; the kind with texture. My hair refuses to hold curl, and so I like my hair to be at least second or third day unwashed so that my curls have a fighting chance of lasting throughout the day. That being said, I have had serious trouble finding a good dry shampoo. I hate the smell of hairspray, and a lot of aerosols smell similar to me. I’ve tried quite a few different formulas, and just came across this product by Bumble & bumble. A few of my favourite YouTubers recommended Prêt-à-powder, and I thought I’d give it a try.
First of all, I LOVE the packaging. The iridescent creme colour is gorgeous, and the hole that the product comes out of is sleek and easy to use (pictured above). I had never tried a powder formulation before, and I actually really like how it works. Since I have blonde hair, I don’t have to worry about a baby powder effect…the powder blends into my hair and effectively absorbs the oils. That being said, brunettes may want to test this product before purchasing, because I am unsure of how the white powder will fare in darker hair. I was a bit concerned that the product would be difficult to get out of the bottle, however it shakes out very easily and I was pleasantly surprised by how evenly the product is distributed. I was told that the product adds volume, and it does not disappoint!
Overall, I am a fan of this product!!! It did a stellar job of making me look less greasy than I actually am…as you can see in this selfie, it made my third-day hair (ew, right) more manageable. The product is advertised as “equal parts dry shampoo, style extender and volume in a pinch”, and this is absolutely an accurate description! By sprinkling a small amount of the product on my roots and scrunching them up a bit, I get INSANE volume at my roots that lasts for hours. My hair is fine and lacks texture and I always struggle with volume, and this product is a lifesaver!
You can find Prêt-à-powder at Sephora for $31.00. This is admittedly a little bit ridiculous…you have to spend a pretty penny to get your hands on this product, however I definitely think that it’s worth the splurge! I’m a notorious hair product addict, and I am rarely blown away. Bumble & bumble delivered, and I am highly impressed by their dry shampoo. I’m looking forward to trying some more Bb products when I next make a trip to Sephora. ♡
