Spring Cravings

Let’s get real…I’m always behind the times on trends. I wear certain pieces until they’re far past their expiry date, and I’m always a little late to the party when it comes to new looks. My fashion posts will likely never be fashion-forward, however they’ll definitely reflect the kinds of things that I’m wearing at the moment. Here are some trends I’m looking forward to this spring…feel free to click on an image to find out where you can purchase the item!

Thin-Strapped Sandals

I have seen these shoes all over the place, and I’m DYING for a pair. I hate to use this word (since my mom has badgered me with it for years), but they are so practical! I generally stick to buying shoes in black or nude, but this year I’m hoping to step out of my comfort zone and buy something a little more vibrant! There are a variety of mid-priced options available, but I had to throw in the Alexander Wang pair below…I doubt I’d ever be able to justify buying them, they’re just SO beautiful.

Spring Dresses

My younger sister always wears such beautiful unique dresses, and she looks amazing all year-round. For 2014, I’d love to start wearing more dresses and experimenting with more feminine shapes. In particular, I’ll be hunting for a dress to wear to my graduation in June. I’m a big fan of blue this year (particularly in the shade seen in the Alexander Wang shoes above), and I love a good flowy skirt! I can’t wait to add some flirty, versatile dresses to my wardrobe this year.

Bangs

One of my favourite features about myself is my blonde hair; I’ve never dyed it! That being said, I’m also the type of person that loves to screw with my appearance (piercings, tattoos, new styles, you name it!). This means that I’m always searching for new ways to alter my hair without resorting to different colours. A few weeks ago I took the plunge…and got fringe bangs! I’m still getting used to them and who knows how long they’ll last, but right now I love them and am excited to style outfits and accessories this spring with my bangs as the focal point. Below is a photo of my new hair and some photos of Lauren Conrad (my style icon)…I looove her bangs.
